51şÚÁĎÍřing Abroad! Dream for many, reality for some. When most students think of studying abroad, the first thing that comes to mind is an opportunity to travel and explore a new country.
The thrill to visit new places, meet new people, and explore different aspects just hits differently. Speaking from personal experience, this is “the best” decision you can ever make for yourself and your future.
- However, if that's not enough incentive, here are 7 more reasons to consider packing your bags and jetting off to a new corner of the world.

Experiencing a different style of education
Well, this is probably the most obvious benefit of studying abroad which is more like the core reason rather than a benefit. However, what’s unique in that is experiencing a totally different style of education. Exposure to new ideas and a different way of thinking adds a lot to your overall learning experience.
For instance, the educational style that I experienced in Pakistan was mostly theoretical and revolved around learning new models and theories while rarely using that in practical life. In contrast, Estonian institutes have more of a practical teaching style where you learn things by implementing them. That made a huge difference and added a lot to my skillset.

Broaden your worldview & gain a new perspective
It’s no secret that studying abroad is a fantastic way to gain a broader worldview. By spending time in a foreign country, you are exposed to new cultures, customs, and ways of life. This can be an incredibly enriching experience and one that can open your eyes to new possibilities.
When people study abroad, they often find that their perspective of the world changes. They learn to see things from a different point of view. This can be incredibly valuable in today's increasingly globalized world.
Also, by studying in a different country, you can learn about other cultures and how they differ from your own. This can help you to become more understanding and tolerant of other people, and it can also give you a new appreciation for your own culture.

Improved language skills
According to a study by the , students who study abroad have better language skills than those who don’t. The study found that students who studied abroad were more confident in their ability to use English and had a higher level of fluency.
This can be an invaluable asset, especially in today’s global economy. Being able to speak another language fluently gives you a competitive edge in the job market and can make it easier for you to do business with people from other countries.
Though you can learn the language while staying in your home country, it is not the same. When you are studying abroad, you are surrounded by speakers of that language. You also get the opportunity to use that language in different scenarios. As a result, you learn the language faster and better than if you were studying in a classroom back home.
Develop independence and self-reliance
The experience of studying in a foreign country can be extremely rewarding, but it can also be challenging. You must rely on yourself more than ever before to get things done. There is often no one to help you and once in your life, you have to take the lead in everything that you are doing.
Sounds exciting, or maybe terrifying? well, you know it better.
Though not everyone might like the idea, this can be a very positive experience. It leads to an increased sense of self-confidence. You get to learn how to navigate new environments and figure out what needs to be done to achieve your goals.
You also learn how to communicate effectively with people from different cultures. This experience is tremendously beneficial for you especially when you will step into your professional life.
If I compare myself now to when I first moved to Estonia for a master’s program, I see a huge change. Despite spending most of my life in boarding schools and some international experiences, this was totally different.
I was afraid of living alone and without any friends, now I don’t just have friends but also have the confidence to go to any part of the world without any second thoughts. I can listen to different people, understand their point of view, and then explain my own without any hesitation. And there’s so much more which you will learn and explore by yourself.

Make new friends from all over the globe
- There are many reasons to study abroad, but one of the best yet underrated is the opportunity to make friends from all over the globe. A study abroad program provides a unique setting in which people from all walks of life come together to learn about new cultures and make lasting friendships.
I had the opportunity to go to Cairo, Egypt via AIESEC Leadership Program and I can say without a doubt that it was the best decision I’ve ever made (technically the second best, because the first is coming to Estonia). I met people from Asia to South America, Brazil, and Europe. We shared amazing experiences, learned a lot from each other, and formed bonds that will last a lifetime.
From a strictly professional point of view (in case you are looking for one) these connections can be extremely valuable when it comes to finding a job or doing business with people from other countries.
So, if you're looking for an opportunity to make new friends and explore new cultures, or just make new business connections, then studying abroad is definitely for you!

Have unique experiences that will stand out on your resume
Another great thing about studying abroad is that you get to experience new things and opportunities.
For example, you can try new foods, explore different places, and learn about other cultures. Additionally, you can also take advantage of the many opportunities that are available while you are studying overseas. These opportunities can include internships, research opportunities, study tours, volunteer work, and much more.
By utilizing these opportunities, you can gain valuable experience and skills that will help you in your future careers.

Career Opportunities
The great thing about studying abroad is that it opens a world of new opportunities for you.
While studying abroad, you develop skills that are essential for success in the workplace. Things like flexibility, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication are all learned when you spend time in another country. These skills will help you in your career no matter where you end up working.
When you return home, you can use your new skills and knowledge in your current career or choose a new career entirely. For instance, you can choose to start a new business or switch to a job that requires bilingual skills.
Summing Up
In conclusion, the decision to study abroad opens. These benefits include gaining new knowledge and skills, developing a global perspective, improving language proficiency, and many more. And from one student to another, if you have the chance to study abroad, don’t let your fear hold you back.
